Looking for a Trainer?
We often have families ask for trainer recommendations, and while I'm not always able to give recommendations for trainer local to you, I highly recommend Will Dunn with Dunn Right Retrievers who is in our neighboring city of Guntersville Alabama.
Will is a stand-up guy who trains ethically with positive reinforcement and we have trusted several puppies to him for training as well as some of our adult dogs. Our families who have used him have all had wonderful things to say. We are not affiliated with Will's training business at all, however, after having a bad experience with a different trainer, I feel like it is important to highlight the trainers I know to be trustworthy.
If you do decide to pursue training through a trainer local to you, be sure to ask around and get many references as well as asking about the style of training being used with your puppy. You want a trainer who is using positive reinforcement and making training an enjoyable experience for your dog, not a trainer who is simply strong-arming your dog into doing commands.
